Trey Knight represents CSUN on Friday at 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships

Northridge, California Senior Thrower Trey Knight CSUN Track & Field will be at the NCAA Indoor Championships 2025 at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach this Friday, VA, for the second season in a row at Nationals in the weight throw with the event at 3:05 p.m. PT.

Knight enjoyed another excellent inside season for CSUN in 2025. He would repeat himself as a MPSF -male athlete of the year and was the first Matador athlete to win two large MPSF awards in every sport. At the 2025 MPSF indoor championships in Spokane, Knight won the weight throw with a throw of 23.26 m (76-3.75). This victory also gave him the award to be the first two-time weight champion in CSUN history.

Knight would also break his own school record in the weight throw of the Nevada Invitational with a throw of 24.87 m (81-7.25). This performance brought him a national athlete of the week when he registered the third best throw in college history and the eight best in world history.

He held the best weight mark almost the entire interior of the interior before it was defeated by Daniel Reynolds from Wyoming. Knight will enter the 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships with the second best weight throw for the campaign.

In the course of the indoor season, Knight was also placed on the Bowerman Award list 2025 and was the first CSUN light athletics athlete to create the list.

In 2024 Knight became second place in the weight throw of the NCAA Indoor championships in Boston. At this event, he would set a school record throw of 24.14 m (79-2.5).
