On Monday, President Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron exchanged a company in front of a bilateral meeting and unusually long handshake outside the oval office. The handshake described by some on social media as “strange” attracted attention for its intensity and duration.

After the initial handshake and mutual shoulder strings, President Trump moved in closer to his French counterpart to extend the greeting. The two guides then waved the assembled media, exchanged a few words and went into the west wing.

This meeting is Trump's first personal encounter with Macron since the last meeting in Paris in December together with the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to reopen the historic Notre Dame Cathedral.

During this Parisian meeting, Trump made Macron unprepared with the power of his handshake and almost pulled the French guide with him.
