Trump's tariffs in Mexico and Canada lead to low traffic in Laredo

Laredo, Tex. (KGNS) – claims indicate that a single day of President Trump's tariff in Mexico and Canada has led to a reduced commercial traffic in Laredo.

A US COMMACHER, Arturo Dominguez, said that more than 200,000 trailers are currently waiting to drive from Mexico to the USA because many did not want to pay the tariff.

He adds that tariffs also cause problems for sellers, since import of certain products can cost more than others, which leads to confusing prices.

“We would see lines on the Mexican side 13 kilometers at 3 a.m. Yesterday it was 500 meters lines, so there were no lines yesterday, ”said Dominguez.

Brokers are now waiting for instructions for commercial traffic, which was exceeded on Wednesday, March 5 and whether the tariffs would apply.
