Tuesday brings a threat to the damage of wind & tornados

Meridian, Miss. (WTOK) –

A strong cold front crosses our area until late Tuesday evening to Wednesday. In our area, strong storms are expected in our area on Tuesday afternoon and in the evening. This is because atmospheric ingredients that support storm will be present … including ingredients that could support the tornado development. The best time for heavy storms is between 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. in our WTOK area. This is a time when many of us either commute home, make errands or go to dinner. So, It is very important that you have several ways to receive warnings … including our first warning weather app. Our app not only offers you serious warnings, but you can also monitor the radar to know whether threatening storms go on your way: https://www.wtok.com/page/download-our-apps/

If heavy storms form, the storm forecast center in our area has highlighted in order to see strong tornados (EF2 or higher) and/or to record much strong gusts of wind over 70 miles per hour. Of course, this could be very effective, so you know where your tornado -safe place will be. Also secure everything you can attract on your property on your property. Even before the storms arrive, there are no disturbing wind gusts over 40 miles per hour.

The winds will be strong before the storms arrive(WTOK)

This type of wind and the stronger winds that could bring the storms could lead to some power outages. It is a good idea to have flashlights and batteries on hand together with a *charged phone / iPad so that you can stay up to date when the electricity fails. A NOAA weather radio is also invaluable.

In front of the storms, the heights to reach the mid -1970s. Plan a cooler and airy Wednesday behind the storms with heights in the mid -1960s. The gusts of wind range from 25 to 35 miles per hour. Thursday morning will really bring the cold when we start the day in the mid -1930s, but wind cold could be below freezing.

Monitoring next weekend

Friday, 70s return … and you will stay until Saturday. However, another storm system can have an impact on us the next weekend. Some of these storms could be strong. So stay on our first Alert weather team to get updates.
