Two in East Stroudsburg, PA, killed, build fire

Two people were killed on Wednesday morning in the Wander Inn Bar & Grill in East Stroudsburg in a fire.

“The fire had burned itself through the ground so that we couldn't get up on arrival,” Nate Black, fire chief of East Stroudsburg, told Wnep.

The neighbors helped save a woman who screamed for help.

“We were all there and put her and said to jump. She throws her handbag and cell phone out of the window.

Another neighbor grabbed his ladder, but Robinson said that his trembling legs prevented him from going up.

However, a fireman rose to get the man who was also caught.

The crews had a number of challenges.

“The proximity of the buildings was the first. We had wind conditions. It was not an adult wind -driven fire, but it didn't help us,” said Black.

Several firefighters were injured in the incident.

Firefighters found the corpses of Jennifer Lugo (34) and Ashton Patterson (42) in the building.
