Albany -a “preliminary” start brought the university in the Lacrosse team from Albany men to a hole that Georgetown goalkeeper Anderson Moore did not escape the big Danes.

Moore scored 14 parades and the 10th Hoyas of the Big East in the first half on the way to a 12: 7 victory against the big Danes on a windy, rainy Wednesday evening in the Casey Stadium.

Ualbany (1-4) lost his second game in a row after a 10: 9 home accident against umass on Saturday.

“Just a hard start,” said Scott Marr, coach of Great Danes. “I thought we played a little temporarily in the first half. At half -time we talked about committing our actions to run hard, throwing the ball hard, not playing as temporary. Only to sign for the game to play a good defense.”

The big Danes held the Hoyas (4-2) playing time for more than 22 minutes, including the entire third quarter. Ualbany scored three goals twice in the fourth quarter, but did not come closer.

A big reason for this was the game of Moore, a second year that excluded the big Danes during a goalless third quarter for both teams. He was the great East newcomer of the year last season. Moore, who wears No. 0, scored 10 parades in the second half.

“Your goalkeeper played great,” said Marr. “We had some really good ones in the third quarter. … He is a very good goalkeeper and Kevin (warne), her trainer, said after the game: '0 in the goal was the difference.' I fully agree.

Freshman Attack Brendan O'keefe led Ualbany with two goals. Junior Attack Silas Richmond and the second attack Ryan Doherty each had three points.

Brady Smith Brady Smith, the goalkeeper of Ualbany Freshman, achieved eleven parades in his third start in a row, seven in the second half.

Georgetown performed 6-1 in the first quarter and in the second quarter 8: 2. Ualbany senior midfielder Jacob Moran triggered the comeback with his first goal since 2023 to score it at 2:28 before half-time.

“Sometimes we have a tendency, especially against large teams, we are slowly starting,” said Moran. “But we try to have an infectious energy. It only takes a man to bring a lot of energy, and I try to play when I play, not play, (or) I'm playing scout.”

The big Danes rose with 9:54 within 9: 6 to play a third career goal on Longstick midfielder Jacob Smith's third career. Then Ualbany went the man's advantage with a push penalty.

But Richmond's shot was blocked and the Hoyas converted this into Aidan Carroll's goal of climbing 10: 6. Richmond replied with a goal, but then Carroll replied again to make it 5:16.

Carroll, a graduate attack, ended with five goals.

It was the first meeting between the big Danes and Hoyas who met their second appearance at the Casey Stadium. You lost two years ago in a NCAA quarter -final game in Ualbany against Virginia.

Now the big Danes begins on three streets, starting on Saturday in Hobart.

“I don't think that so much is about our opponent at the moment,” said Marr. “Umass, great first half, not so great in the second half. This game, not so great in the first half, much better second half. We have to find a way to play this gap between the mistakes in the game and a more complete game.”
