UCSC Police release sketch of suspects in incidents with sexual battery

The UC Santa Cruz Police Department has published a sketch of a suspect who, in two incidents with sexual batteries on campus, one on March 7 and one on February 20, to identify the person, to be desired.

Based on witness descriptions, the sketch shows a light -skinned man in the early 20s with shoulder -length dark hair. The suspect was also described as about 5-foot 7 to 5-foot 9 and dressed in dark clothes, a black bandana and black-reached glasses.

The police said that their investigations on the incidents have not yet been completed and they ask everyone with information about the incidents or who recognizes the suspect to contact them under number 831-459-2231. 1. The UCSC police authority said that on February 20, it reacted to an incident with a sexual battery on College Nine/John R. Lewis College in the A2 apartment building. “In both incidents, the suspect fled on foot and it is assumed that it is the same person who is suspected for both crimes,” said the police.

In an e -mail alarm on the campus on Friday about the incident of March 7, school officers said that a suspect had approached a local student from behind, while the student tried to go to his room at John R. Lewis College.

“The suspect then physically held back the resident and committed a sexual battery against the resident,” says the message. “The resident was able to free himself and make his roommates aware of what flees the suspect to the stairwell.”

The university also examines additional incidents of burglary and voyeurism in the same period. Students in three residential buildings, including John R. Lewis, reported that a cell phone recorded them while showering in the joint pools. Others stated that their phones and / or clothing had been stolen while showering.
