Uncw men, W&M women lead after record day 3 at CAA Swimming & Diving Championship





Day 3 end results championship Central

Hampton, va. (February 28, 2025) -The UNCW men won four individual events to take first place on Friday evening in Hampton Aqueplex on the Women's Siegen side at three individual events and a season on Friday evening.

Four Caa records were broken on an exciting day of action.

In the men's team ranking, UNCW leads with 586.5 points, Delaware remained second with 558 points and Drexel remained third with 407.5 points. Towson (333.5) is fourth, followed by William & Mary (277) and Monmouth (127.5).

In the Women's Team classification, William & Mary took first place with 904.5 points, the leader of day 2 with 870.5 points and Delaware with 812 points. In fourth place is Northeastern (645), followed by Towson (596), Drexel (488), Campbell (265), Monmouth (208) and Stony Brook (204).

Women 100 -yard -butterfly
UNCW junior Cameron Snowden, who set out her own Caa all-time Caa in the 100 fly with a time of 51.81 in the morning preliminary runs, went even lower in the final and set a new brand at 51.78. She took gold for the second time in a row. William & Marys Lindsay Juhlin took the second (53.31) and Delaware's Victoria Novinskiy the third (53.37).

Drexel Senior Kuba Kwasny broke his own Caa-Meet record and set up a new CAA brand with a winning time of 45.50 in the 100 fly. He won the event for the second time in a row. The teammate of Dragons Sebastian Smith was close in the second (45.60) and third place went to the Dave Fitch from UNCW (46.72).

Women 400 Yard individual medley
William & Mary Freshman Claire Neilly was the first trunk swimmer who has won the 400 in a time of 4: 14.71 since 2018. UNCW called for the other two podium points with Senior Katie Knorr, the second (4: 17.07) and Junior Lauren Sharp, the third (4: 19.80).

Uncw Sophomore William Carrico hit his own Caa all-time Caa and met in the 400 IMS by almost two seconds with a time of 3: 44.81 for his second victory in a row in the event. He headed a podium -sweep for the Seahawks when the newcomer Ian Frazer the second (3: 49.12) and Senior Aidan Duffy (3: 49.92).

200 Yard freestyle for women
William & Mary Freshman Tess Lankford was the first trunk swimmer to have conquered the 200 -Frree with a winning time of 1: 48.42 since 2017. The three best finisher only separated the second (1: 48.55) and Emily Waite from Uncw (1: 48.58) when Lauren Hartel von Delaware separated only 0.16 seconds.

Men's 200 -yard freestyle
Shaw Satterfield, student of the UNCW graduates, received first place in the 200 free and touched the wall in 1: 35.58. Silver was Delaware's Addison Collins (1: 36.10) and third place went to William & Marys Aiden Bond (1: 36.20).

100 -yard breast grich for women
The senior by William & Mary, Ellie Scherer, called for her third 100 chest gold medal in a row with a winning time of 1: 00.19. Camer mate Lindsay Juhlin was in the second (1: 00.91) and Mania Tasakou from Delaware (1: 01.19).

100 -yard breast swimming of the men
Senior Toni Sabev was the first Delaware swimmer to record the 100 breast and recorded a time of 51.69. The junior teammate of Blue Hens Matvei Namakonov, who set out the record of CAA meeting in 51.72 in preparations with a time of 51.16. Third place went to Drexels Kacper Karnik (53.00).

Women 100 -yard -Rückstroke
The newcomer Maeren McGonigal has been the first 100 back champion from UNCW since 2012 and touched the wall in 53.62. Second place went to Delaware Junior Angi Ragazzoni (53.98) and Drexel Senior Fede Nocera third place (54.24).

Men 100 -yard back
For the fifth time in six years, UNCW took first place in the 100 back when Junior Jack Vanhow earned gold with a time of 46.86. Second place went to Drexel in the second year Theo Andreopoulos (47.30) and finished third for Towson Junior Sean Colson (47.39).

3-meter diving of men
Uncw Junior Ethan Badrian received his third gold in a row in the 3-meter diving competition with a score of 348.05. The teammate of Seahawks, Nic Newis, was second (341.65) and third place went to Delaware's Philip Townsend (340.30).

Women 200 -yard -Freestyle relay
In a race that was decided by 0.03 seconds, the team of William & Mary from Zoe Arakelian, Flynn Trukett, Sarah Dunham and Caroline Burgeson held an exciting 200 free season with a time of 1: 30.83, which only corresponds to 0.03 from the CAA all-time record. With a time of 1: 30.86, Towson took third place with a time of 1: 31.42.

200 -yard -freestyle relay of men
Drexel won the 200 Free Relay title for the first time since 2015 as the team of Theo Andreopoulos, Sebastian Smith, Kuba Kwasny and Petar Pavalic in 1: 18.01. Silver was third with a time of 1: 18.89 Delaware and William & Mary in 1: 19.08.
