USAID headers potential fees for foreign aid fraud

The incumbent head of the US Agency for International Development (USA) announced on Wednesday that the legislators of the congress had prepared potential criminal transfers against those who abused taxpayers for foreign development programs.

The New York Times said Peter Marocco made his comments when he spoke closed doors to the house for foreign affairs during a meeting.

An internal review is in the early stages, but members of the Marocco team believe that they have uncovered a model of illegal activities in the agency, which serves as the main component of the United States for foreign help.

Marocco was commissioned by President Donald Trump to reduce USAID and told the legislators that he had examined the contracts and grants granted by the agency.

Much of the money given by the USA is intended to promote stability and economic growth and provide humanitarian aid in fragile regions.

On Wednesday the Supreme Court If the Trump administration's application refused to block the order of a lower court that the administration made almost $ 2 billion in USAI payments, and delivered international auxiliary groups and contractors who are striving for payment for previously completed projects.

The US MP Brian Mast, R-Fla, the chairman of the outdoor panel, told Times that USAID was structured so that the accountability is difficult.

“Mr. Marocco was very clear in uncovering the waste that occurs out there and pointed out how many of these programs were not held accountable in the state and the USA,” he said.

USAID was one of the first goals of Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (Doge), which is burdened with the selection of wasteful expenses.
