Moscow, Idaho – Saturday was a magical day for Idaho basketball

Before the last home game of the season against Weber State Wildcats, three Vandaleniors, Jack hadPresent Kyson RoseAnd Julius Mimswere recognized for their incredible contributions to the program and the community, and if we contact the regular season finale, we will say again, we will say again

Many thanks to our amazing seniors.

The campaign against the state of Weber was just as exciting as the ceremony that was previous. The teams never feel 100% in this end of the year and add that the state of Idaho Idaho gave a stinging narrow loss on Thursday, it was time that something good happened.

It did, but it took a while. The first half showed a lot of grit, a lot of physicality and not many points. The shots were not as good for both teams as they would normally do, and it took time for the vandals and wildcats to get into the leadership of the home team during the break with 29: 27.

The second half was a different story for both sides. For black and gold, the three -point shot began to pay off, especially for Kolton Mitchell And Tyler Mrus. Mitchell's shooting clicked really late in the second half, including the rise of the Vandals with a competitive 3, to force what would be overtime at some point.

Weber equalized and continued to free basketball.

Mitchell recorded where he stopped to start the additional period with another contested long -distance shot that applies on a foul and put four from the jump. However, the wildcats would not disappear, and it took a real team effort to end the job.

That is where Tyler Mrus came in. With less than a minute to play in OT, Jack Payne's Three-point attempt jumped from the edge into the hands of Julius Mimswho surpasses all in the color to secure his playing thirteenth thirteenth of the day, and the ball made its way to a wide -open mrus with nothing but air between him and the edge. Tyler was a perfect three online and sent the ICCU Arena amount in frenzy.

MRUS would also have a defensive influence on the game. Only seconds and Weber State's Blaise Threat in line to shoot two free throws three, he made the first and deliberately missed the second to give his team a chance of an offensive board and a two-point shot. However, it would not happen when a scrum for the ball followed, which meant that Mrus had also expired the time to hand over the 81-79 victory to the Vandals.

This game was the fourteenth season, in which at least four vandals achieved in double -digit numbers. Mrus has achieved six three-point shots that contribute to his team leaders 22 in the history of the games in the ICCU Arena. Kolton Mitchell And Kristian Gonzalez ingested 18 and Jack Payne set up 11.

Unfortunately, the vandals will have little time to digest it because the regular season finale is just around the corner. Idaho travels on Monday, March 3, with a reservations with a resertion with a reservations with a remaining with a reservations with a reservations.
