Lafayette, ind. (Wish) – Video of Bodycams and surveillance cameras During a deadly shootout in December in a laundry salon, published on Thursday on the YouTube page of the Lafayette Police Department.

The shootout was reported shortly before 7.40 p.m. on December 5th in the Lafayette Laundry, 3100 South St., a few blocks of houses west of the Sagamore Parkway in a shopping center.

One of the three people shot, Keith Ford, 35, from Lafayette, died of several gunshot wounds in what the forensic doctor of the Tippecanoe County described as a murder. The shooter Louis McGrothlin, 73, from Lincoln, Nebraska, died in a hospital in Indianapolis on a self -inflicted gunshot wound.

The other two people who recovered from the shooting were identified in the video as Renee Martin, 32, and Salvador de la Cruz. His age was not made available.

McGlrothlin first shot Ford, who was sitting in the launch of the launch with his back to protect. Next, McGlothlin shot several shots on Martin. Finally de la Cruz was shot in the lower body.

During the investigation, the police found videos at McGlrothlin's house on December 19, which he had made over the years. In the videos, McGlrothlin spoke about people in Lafayette who controlled his mind. “The content of these records strongly suggests that Louis suffered from non -diagnosed and severe mental health problems,” said the police SGT. Shawn Verma in the video.

McGrothlin had no connection to one of the people he shot on the laundry salon, the investigators found. “Based on the restored videos, it is clear that Louis planned the attack over a longer period of time, since some of the film materials were several years old.

“For many years, Louis' mental health was in decline and his delusions about people in Lafayette who controlled his spirit was tightened.

“While Louis had lived in Lafayette as a child, his only familiarity with the area was the South Street and the Earl Avenue together with nearby companies.

“It is assumed that he aimed at the laundromat just because it was an open business in an area he recognized.”

The YouTube video also contained audio from 911 calls.
