View live: celebrate hōkūleʻa

Honolulu (Hawaiinewsnow) – Fifty years ago, Hōkūleʻa entered the water for the first time. Celebrate your birthday this Saturday, March 8, at Kualoa Regional Park with us.

If you cannot participate in person, Hawaii News will now radiate “Hōkūleʻa”, a live transmission of the memory from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on K5 and online here.

The program functions:

  • 9 a.m. Whena: opening
  • 9:15 a.m. Welina: greetings and introductions
  • 9:45 a.m. Hoʻomanaʻo: Memories
  • 10:15 a.m. Hoʻolōkahi: unit
  • 10:40 am Ho'okele Mau: Sail on
  • 11 a.m. Panina: Close, Mahalo and Announcements

Following the program, the public from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to 4 p.m. is invited to an entertaining family day with cultural activities, storytelling and island entertainment to the Kualoa/Hakipuʻu Wa'a Festival.
