Viral Endemic means that the school is closed in Taplejung

Two schools of Meringen have concluded the order of health officers in response to the sudden illness of the students.

Tribhuvan Secondary School by Thukimwa and Janajyoti Basic School in Ward 5 of the same community temporarily closed for three days after over 300 students had shown symptoms of fever, cough, headache and stomach pain.

According to Kamal Limbu, the headmaster of the Tribhuvan Secondary School, 150 students and 4 teachers in his school and almost all of them on the Janajyoti School and a few community members showed similar symptoms.

Health officers were deployed immediately after the closures, reports Udaya Kumar Yadav, the reigning chief management officer and head of the health department of the rural community.

With the rapid spread of the disease and the symptoms of fever, cough, body pain, running nose, headache and stomach pain, the authorities suspected the outbreak as a viral influenza.

“We don't have a laboratory for example tests here. We will send samples for laboratory tests immediately, ”says Yadav and adds that you have brought sample kits from Biratnagar to confirm the diagnosis.
