Viral video calls problematic trends to sweep Tikok: “It's so abnormal”

A viral video that recently accumulated 60,000 likes serves as a memory that excessive material consumption on social media is not normal.

Ellie Frazer (@Elliewfrazer), a popular Tikok creator, started the video with: “Can I please remind you that it is so abnormal to spend money as people spend money on this app?”

Frazer explained that she needed this memory because she is often dissatisfied with her possessions, even though she has many material objects.

“I have so many dresses and things for which I am grateful, so I needed this memory today,” she said.

Young people are increasingly relying on social media to influence the way they shop. In a Forbes article it was stated that “the hashtag #tektokmademebuyite has more than 6.7 billion views over 2.3 billion views on Tiktok and #amazon finds.”

Frazer pointed out the adverse effects on the money -saving habits of young people and mentioned how this affects people's satisfaction.
