Virginia Tech Football: News and Notes before spring practice

Brent Pry, head coach of Virginia Tech, entered the stage on Tuesday before the spring practice opened. Before Pry talked about his team and the training, he gave the wrestling team of Virginia Tech and head coach Tony Robie a big scream because he had won the ACC. He also mentioned the basketball coach of women, Megan Duffy, when they prepare for the WBit.

Now to the shop by hand.

Pry praised new strength and fitness trainers Jarrett Ferguson for his work with the Offseason program. In private, there was a lot of excitement about the former Hokie foreign defender as a head strength coach, and pry is clearly excited.

So what did we play this week in advance?

Praise for Xavier Adibi

Xavier Adibi is one of the best linebackers in school history. Adibi plays a new role in 2024: Inside LineBacker coach. The regular changes made it possible for the teams to change their coaching teams, and enabled the Hokies to put Adibi into a role in the field in which he shone. Pry believed that LineBacker Caleb Woodson and Jaden Keller played very well last season and credited Adibi for their development.

Kyron drones

Drones enter his third season as a quarterback from Tech. He wants to forget last year. It was more about the multiple injuries he had suffered than his individual numbers.

Dr. On drones: “Physically, he looks back to the form.”

Pry praised drones for his work ethic, competitiveness and leadership in the low season. He said drones look good and believes that the new offensive coordinator Phillip Montgomery is a significant addition, especially in the quarterback room.

Spring football remains

Lately, spring football has been given some attention, it ended and concentrated on the summer before the season. Brent Pry is not on this train.

“I like the current model,” said Pry. “With the windows of the transfer portal, this can influence the whole thing for me.”

Pry said the spring game was important.

“The traditional spring practice is what I think is working here for us.

Three players will miss the spring practice

  • RS FR LineBacker Gabe Williams

  • Fr Running Back Jeff Overton

All three players recover from injuries or operations. Pry noticed that some others would be limited to start spring: WR Tucker Holloway, RB Jeremiah Coney, S Tyler Childress, RB Marcellous Hawkins, LB Jordan Bass and CB Krystian Williams.
