By Jason Scherer | Bloomberg

Warner Bros. Discovery closes three video game studios and stops working on a eagerly awaited Wonder Woman title to increase the profitability of his interactive entertainment business.

According to a memo to the MEMO respected by Bloomberg News, the Monolith Productions in Kirkland, Monolith Productions, are closed in the first games in Los Angeles and Warner Bros., San Diego.

The cuts reflect a realignment of the game department of large franchise companies such as Harry Potter, Mortal Kombat, Game of Thrones and DC comics, mainly Batman.

“The quality of too many of our new publications really missed the brand,” JB Perrette, head of the games and streaming for Warner Bros., wrote in the memo. “We have to make some significant changes to our portfolio/team structure to oblige the necessary resources to return to a strategy” less but larger franchise “.”

In a statement to Bloomberg, a spokesman for Warner Bros. Games said that the shutdowns were “not a reflection of these teams or the talent that is there”.

At the beginning of this month, Bloomberg reported that the Wonder Woman game was in difficulties and that the Warner Bros. Games Unit was exposed to after a difficult 2025 after the under -performance of the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Multiversus and Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions. Current and former employees accused the weak slate of indecisiveness and a lack of vision under President David Haddad, who resigned in January.
