...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 415 PM CDT THIS
AFTERNOON FOR CALHOUN, CHICKASAW, LEE, PONTOTOC, UNION, SOUTHEASTERN
LAFAYETTE AND SOUTHEASTERN YALOBUSHA COUNTIES...

At 143 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms
producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches
of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches
are possible in the warned area. Numerous roads are flooded within
Tupelo, as well some homes.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.

SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Tupelo, New Albany, Pontotoc, Houston, Verona, Trace State Park,
Tombigbee State Park, Saltillo, Guntown, Bruce, Calhoun City,
Shannon, Vardaman, Plantersville, Derma, Ecru, Pittsboro,
Randolph, Houlka and Troy.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
