Since the federal real -id enforcement period approaches quickly, the authorities hold a press conference to ensure that Pittsburgers are ready.

Pittsburgh's international airport will host the transportation security administration, penndot and AAA East Central for a press conference at 1 p.m.

It is expected to talk about what the deadline on May 7th means for travelers, how to get a real ID, need the documents where the residents can apply, and more.

What do I need a real ID for?

You need a real ID or an alternative form of the nationwide acceptable identification such as a valid passport or military ID to enter domestic trading flights, military installations and certain federal institutions.

The driver's licenses or IDs issued by Pennsylvania are no longer accepted for travelers who fly domestically in Germany after the implementation becomes effective. The deadline had been pushed back several times due to the Covid 19 pandemic, but now, on May 7, 2025, two months is removed.
