Watch: Rep. Beth van Duyne explains IRS error, demands the accountability | National

(The Center Square) The US representative Beth van Duyne, R-Texas, criticized the IRS that they could not protect the taxpayer information, and pointed out reports on sensitive data injuries with up to 5,000 contractors.

She spoke of over a dozen contractors who had retained access to a sensitive IRS system, even though she had unfavorable background reviews. Democrats accused the MEP of the Congress of ignoring the previous leaks of taxpayer information used against President Donald Trump.

“If Democrats are serious about protecting the taxpayer information, they would have expressed concerns when illegal data were used to attack Americans,” said Van Duyne at a hearing from the committee this week. “Keep with the gas light and protect the waste, fraud and abuse that is uncovered.”
