With dwindling blanket of snow, Beargreas movements to two ports begins

With a dwindling snow cover in the southern part of the course, the John Beargreas Sled Dog Marathon will move its starting line.

The route now begins in two ports at the first check point of the race.

The organizers say that this step will guarantee a safe and competitive path for Musers and their teams.

Updated signage is available to guide traffic and the viewers on the starting line.

It was planned to start in Billy's Bar on the table on the 11th morning. In Duluth, Marathon Musher drives her teams along the north kan at the finish line in Grand Portage.

The 2025 race is the 40th run. It was originally planned for January 26th to 28th, but was postponed due to uncertain path conditions. The Marathon 2024 was canceled as a whole.
