With new owner, restaurant celebrate the St. Paddy's Day | News, sports, jobs

Warren Scott celebrates the Irish – Barkeper Regan Hunter, the open -air bar in McCarthy's harp and habit for a busy weekend of St. Patrick's Day, with a selection of beverage and dinner specialties and several actors who are to go on stage on the stage by Monday.

Steubenville – Since it was opened last autumn, the harp and the habit took an Irish topic, but with the transfer of the restaurant to a new owner, it includes the taste and noise of the Emerald Isle with a series of dishes and drinks and live entertainment during the day of St. Patrick's Day.

The restaurant was renamed McCarthy's harp and habit, and the new owner Chris McCarthy said that he enjoyed building on the menu and the atmosphere, which was created by the friend and former owner Franco Carapellotti while adding his own details.

McCarthy said it was a great time for those who have not been to the restaurant recently to experience the changes, and for everyone who wants to sit back and celebrate their vacation.

In view of the last warm weather, he and his employees have prepared a covered outdoor terrace, which is served by two bars next to the restaurant.

The area includes a stage to present a full series of musicians who deliver Celtic and other music on Saturday and Sunday at 6 p.m. and on Monday from 12 noon to 3 p.m.

McCarthy said if the weather should be wetter and cooler, the terrace can be locked and heated and there will be a lot of seating, inside and outside.

For the weekend, the restaurant will offer a special Irish menu that includes Corned Beef and Kohl, Banger and Mash (sausage with potato puree), Cottage Pie, Guinness Stew, Reubens and Reuben Burgers and Colcannon (Irish potato potato).

The bartenders serve green tea recordings, mini beer shots and many other drinks.

And for dessert there is bread pudding, Irish potato sweeties, Irish dirt pudding or Guinness.

McCarthys harp and habit recently added a fasting menu, including baked cod, grilled salmon, crab cake, cajun shrimp and other seafood. It is available all week for Lent.

McCarthy said that wings were well received on Wednesdays with an expanded selection of 30 sauces and Sunday brunches from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

He added that in April he would present a new menu with about a dozen new articles and some returning favorites.

McCarthy said that among them are Pilz -ravioli, served with an Irish cream sauce that proved to be popular on Valentine's Day and is included in the menu of Lent.

McCarthy comes from Philadelphia, where he owned and operated a chain of Hamburg restaurants.

In 2002 he visited the Franciscan University of Steubenville and recently returned because his daughter was a student there.

During the visit of Carapellotti, “I came to the restaurant and was really impressed by what he did here.”

McCarthy said he worked as a teenager in the restaurant industry and served as a waiter, bartender and in other positions before opening his first restaurant seven years ago.

His ancestors came from the county of Cork, Ireland, and he recently welcomed the opportunity to visit his headquarters.

But McCarthy also gives high grades for the Steubenville region, which has become him and his family of nine.

“I love Steubenville. I have a lot of friends here. Some of my best friends were born and bred here. “ he said.

“The people here are very hard and really caring.”

McCarthy's harp and habit are open from Monday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m.

It is part of the Franciscan Square, about 4.5 hectares of Fraspada Co. Limited, led by Carapellotti and the Franciscan University of Steubenville at the University of Boulevard near the Campus entrance.

The website includes a four -story hotel with 113 rooms, a seasonal ice rink and other restaurants and companies.
