Woman who lived life in Mountain View Shooting 'with a smile,' says sister

A woman Toyly shot from outside of a motorhome Monday in an anchorage park came to Alaska, according to her sister from Hawaii.

The police say they still examine the murder of Kikite Leu Fatu (33) in Davis Park of Mountain View and had no further details to be published on Friday. No arrests were made.

Samantha Fatu, Kikite's sister, said in an interview on Friday that Kikite came from a large family.

“She had 12 brothers and two sisters and she was – she was the baby,” said Fatu.

After Kikite got into trouble in her home state, Samantha said she brought her to an anchorage. For a while she lived with Samantha and her daughter in her house in Karluk Street.

Kikite Leu Fatu “did everything she wanted to do and she did it with a smile,” said her sister Samantha Fatu.

“She was fine until she went into some friends she knew from home,” said Fatu. “So she was on the street.”

Samantha said Kikite was not homeless and continued to visit her home at meals and showers.

The family reached at around 8 p.m. around 8 p.m. at around 8 p.m. on Monday. According to Samantha, Kikite was in a motorhome that belonged to a friend at the time. The police say that she was taken to a local hospital where she died that night.

Samantha said the news was “very shocking and sad”, especially in view of Kikit's positive attitude to life.

“She did everything she wanted and she did it with a smile,” she said. “And she didn't deserve it – you know.”

The investigators have been in close contact with Kikite's family since the shootout.

“The police were such a great help,” said Samantha. “You checked me and only given me information. As soon as you get information about the investigation, let me know. “
