Baylor Track and Field won the Big 12 Indoor Championships in Lubbock on Saturday, which was emphasized by the Senior Sprinter Nathaniel Hesekiel, who breaks his own school record in the 400 meters and helps the bear to win the 4 × 400 season. The promoters of the doctoral students, Alexis Brown, and Junior Sprinter Tarriah Kelley secured two podium places and led the women's team to an enthusiastic third place with 64 points.

The bears had a strong start after the first day of the competition. The women sat in second place with 30 points through six of the ten events, with the Jumper Janae de Gannes in first and third place in the long jump of women in first and third place.

Sophomore Pole Vaulter Molly Haywood took first place, while Junior Pole Vaulter Tenly Kuhn took sixth place and added 13 points to the total amount of the team. Logan Todorovich, the Freshman Multi-Event athlete, also secured a top night in pentathlon.

By the end of the first day, 11 bears had been promoted to the final, Haywood and Kelley set up two new program records and Baylor was in a great place to continue the competition.

“Good first day at Big 12s,” said head coach Michael Ford. “Start on the women's side to switch it off with Logan to get a point in the multis, that was great. As a newcomer, she did it very well. Coach Hood did a great job with her. Then Janae went well in this 1: 3 place in the long jump with coach Smith. We had hoped to get this 1-2, but a total of 16 points from it, that was great for our women's team to continue to fight for this team title. Molly and Tenly, to the pole vault, made great great things with a 1: 6 finish to get us there another 13 points. I was very proud of our field event crew today. “

On the second day, Brown took third place in the 60-meter folding board, Kelley took third place in the 200-meter final, and the Freshman Sprinter Roiktee Brown became sixth place at the same event. The women also secured a runner-up in the 4 × 400 season.

For the men, the second Hurdler Demario Prince took fifth place in the 60-meter hurdles, and Hesekiel ran a 44.72 in the open 400 meters. The doctoral student of the doctoral student Demar Francis took seventh place in the 400-meter fittings board and second place in the 200-meter fittings board. Francis' combination of events reflects the former all-American Michael Johnson from Baylor against the first male runner to sweep both the 200 and the 400-meter company at the 1996 Olympic Games.

Francis and Hesekiel merged with the Freshman Sprinter Tyler Honeyman and the senior Sprinter Dillion to secure a winning time of 3:04:78.

“Day two of the Big 12 is a wrap,” said Ford. “It is always exciting to win the 4 × 4 on the men's team and second place among women with the best season. Nate (Hesekiel) had an enormous meeting to win the 400, to break the furnishing record and the conference record and then to lead a great leg in the season. We only had a lot of people who got up today. “

The bears will return to the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, VA, at the NCAA indoor championships on March 14th.
