Wrestling: Local competitors survive after the 1st day of the state championships

The first day of the CIF State Wrestling meeting is in the books, and all 18 North Bay Grapplers are still in the tournament.

The first day of the CIF State Wrestling Championships is in the books, and all 18 North Bay Grapplers are still in the tournament – some stay in the championship clamps, while others fall on the consolation clips.

Historically, the second day was a make-or break day for wrestlers because the schedule is much more exhausting. But at the moment it is time to see where the wrestlers sit on the way to the podium.

St. Helena's Piper Pike, the eighth seed with 130 pounds, won her prelude to Ava Mendoza from Terra Nova about a decision with 11: 1 majority. Then she defeated Sabrina Felix von Downey about a 15-0 collapse to switch to the quarter-finals, where she will take place on Friday against Samantha Sachs from Glendora in 1st place in No. 1.

With £ 135 St. Helena's Anais Hernandez also won her game with a 9-0 decision about Tehachapis Jazzalynn Ramirez. Hernandez then fell into No. 4 -Sowing Cynthia Meza from Calaveras in the 16th round.

In the 155-pound clip, Jaslynn Aken from American Canyon Ayalas Tatiana Chavarin defeated 13: 1. Then she took Natalia Righellis from Olympians and scored a 7-1 win and will now take over against the third seed in the quarter-finals Eva Garcia.

Ukiah's Savannah Nelsen, also in the 155-pound clip, lost against the fifth seed Angelina Jiang von Gunn. She now falls into the consolation holder and faces Ramonas Giuliaha Pekelder.

Aken's teammate Aiyanna Beane ranked 170 pounds A hard game against seeds No. 8, Selmas Olivia Furlong. Furlong finally won over a 3-1 decision, and Beane will turn to the consolation class and wrestle Kimmora Teo from Wilcox.

Just like the girls, all boys will wrestle on Friday. From 106 pounds, Windsor Antonio Garaventa won his first game with a majority decision before lost against Benicio Thorne from Bishop Amat. He will wrestle Jacob Cava from Torrey Pines in the consolation holder.

Garaventa's team -mate of Garaventa, Joey Guanella, had a tough draw in the first round and lost against seed No. 13 with £ 113, Massimo Ortiz from Servite. Guanella meets Frontier in the consolation clip against Issac Arism tendency.

The Spencer Madson-Castillo from Petaluma fell on the No. 11-Samen Caden Garriott from South Torrance with £ 120. Madson-Castillo will have a goodbye on Friday to open consolation.

Windsor Perez Perez had to medically confuse his opening game at £ 132 and fall into the consolation. If he is able to go, he will wrestle Shane Takara from Irvingon.

With £ 138, Chase Claassen fell over the technical autumn on Shea Dawson from Morro Bay, the 15 seed. Claassen will wrestle Bryce Gonzales from Norco into the consolation class.

Vintage's Riley Youngblood fell to £ 144, Georgii Guledani of Agoura, into the start of 13. Youngblood will compete in the opening round of the consolation on Rocco Godinez from Centennial (Corona).

The quick forwarding of up to 175 pounds won the Logan Bruce by Maria Carrillo and the Jonah Bertoli by Cardinal Newman, the 12th and 14th seeds, their openings. Bruce stuck the Capistrano Valley -Matin Ghanavat before fell to the fifth seed, Adrien Reyes from Clovis, until the technical autumn.

Bertoli achieved an 11: 4 decision victory over Norcos Jaxen Cardenas before lost by pin against the third seed, Pitmans Mason Oniveros. Both Bruce and Bertoli will have two byes before they struggle in their consolation clips.

The Ukiahs Jordan Schwarm, the 14 seeds with 215 pounds, defeated Andru Balladarez by Edison with technical autumn (18-1). Swarm then fell on the third seed, Kayden Cartee von Mayfair. Swarm will have two byes in the consolation holder like Bruce and Bertoli.

Devon Bertoli by Cardinal Newman lost £ 285 through pin to the seed No. 7, Xander company of Sultana. Bertoli will compete in the opening round of the consolation west of Victor Valley.
