Wright Township Shooting is injured, 1 in custody

The Ottawa County deputies were called by the Grand Rapids police department after a victim had appeared in a Grand Rapids hospital with a gunshot wound.

Ottawa County, Michigan – one person is injured and another is in custody after a shootout in Wright Township on Saturday evening, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office (OCSO).

The deputies said around 7 p.m., they were contacted by the Grand Rapids Police Department (GRPD). GRPD said the police were called for a person with a gunshot wound in the emergency room of the Helen Devos Children's Hospital.

GRPD said through the first examination that they found that the incident in Ottawa County near the intersection of Arthur Street and the 40th Avenue took place in Wright Township.

GrPD also said they had imprisoned someone who was connected to the examination.

Ocso detectives reacted to the hospital for the examination.

The MPs found that the victim was an 18-year-old and that his name was not published.

A second 18-year-old who was involved in the incident was taken into custody in the hospital and is held in the prison of Ottawa County. Your name will not be published until the indictment.
