WSAZ investigates | West Virginia Bill suggests mandatory ambulance at school football games

Huntington, W.Va. (Wsaz) – Many families in West Virginia spend their weekends in the stadium and look at football games.

WSAZ investigates | Football without ambulance

WSAZ reported last autumn when a soccer player in South Charleston was thrown out and the crews had to call an ambulance, but had to wait for someone to arrive.

While some districts in West Virginia need ambulances at football games, the current code in West Virginia does not do so.

A legislation in West Virginia legislation would require if available ambulances would be stationed in the middle and high school football games.

The Senate Education Committee will take over this draft law on Thursday.

In their discussion on Thursday, the legislators expressed concerns that the occupation of an ambulance could be difficult with every game, but the draft law agreed, sends the right message about security and pays attention to a problem.

If it is adopted, the mandate for the school year 2025-2026 would come into force.
