Wyatt breaks the school record, deserves all-America ceremonies in 800 at NCAA indoor championships

Rochester, ny – junior Isabel Wyatt Brake The Black Black team of St. Olaf College women in the 800-meter run during their ninth place in the event at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday in the Golisano Training Center.

Wyatt came at her first national meeting in athletics and broke the previous school record of 2: 11.81 by Megan (Daymont) Thomas '03 by half a second with a time of 2: 11.33. Wyatt's time was the ninth place on the field of 20 runners and less than half a second when he earned the junior a place in the final on Saturday. The junior received the honors of the second team All-America with the ninth performance.

The top two people from each of the three preliminaries and the next two fastest times qualified for the final. In her heat, Wyatt was only 0.28 seconds behind Kayla Kass from Stockton University, who grabbed second place in the heat to secure a place in the final.

The performance on Friday ended an outstanding indoor season for Wyatt, which was appointed Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) women's-co-track athlete of the year (MIAC) after winning conference titles in the 800-meter run and 1,000 meter run. Wyatt also broke the school record in both events and has been the first national qualification game in the event since 2003.

The exterior season of St. Olaf is scheduled to begin on Friday, March 28th in St. Louis, Mo, in the Washu distance Carnival.
