Wyatt Emmick from Hancock County breaks hurdle record of the indoor route State Championship

Wyatt Emmick from Hancock County, who competed in the 1A Indoor Track State Championship, broke the state and school record in the 55 hurdles with 7.85. Overall, the young team took the seventh and the girls' man in 30th place.

“Wyatt and his hurdle trainer Mason Aschenbrenner took a lot of time in his speed and timing this season,” said Wes Meserve, head coach of Hancock County. “I have to give Mason a lot of recognition because he is really knowledgeable and keeps Wyatt a high standard.”

The Hornets broke five school records, had two of their relay team medal and five individual medals. The 4 × 400 season of the boys from Emmick, Cooper Jones, Mekhel London and Emmitt Meserve took sixth place. Her 4 × 800 season became seventh.

On the individual page, Cooper Jones took third place in 400 (51.75) and broke his own school record by a whole second. Christian Yanez became sixth in the triple jump and almost broke the school record.

On the girl's side, Ellen Meserve took seventh place as just a seventh grade in the high jump.

“I am very satisfied with how my athletes did it today,” said Wes Meserve. “We were also satisfied with how our seasons did it. I think both could have gone faster, but they were both quite full of children who didn't have much indoors or relay experience. “

Owensboro Catholic was also present, with the boys 'team took the 12th and the girls' man 13th place. The aces had eight medalists, led by the 4 × 800 -meter relay team from Ainsley Sutter, Caroline Wathen, Scarlett Isenbarger and Peyton Reid. Reid also became 1,600 fifth among the girls, while Sutter took 3200 seventh place.

The 4 × 200 meter team of the boys also took third place and consisted of Xavier Maddox, Colin Howard, Jude Cecil and Russ Boarman. Cecil was also fourth in the 200 -meter fittings board. Houston Lynn and Noah O'Nan finished third in the young jump of the boys, while Cam Woodward was eighth in the triple jump of the boys.
