Wyopreps 2025 Alpine Skiing State Championship Preview [VIDEO]

The Wyoming High School Alpine Skiing State Championships are in Jackson this weekend to complete the 2025 preparation season. This year's championships will take place on Friday and Saturday in Snow King Mountain Resort. There is a defending champion who returns to the state ski meeting. This is Jackson Junior Dylan Withherite, who won the girl's GS title in 2024. There will be a new champion of the boys GS and both slalom races. These were not controversial last year because too much snow canceled 2 on 2 a year ago.

Wyopreps visited the Jackson Hole High School Alpine Ski head coach Cody Hansen to promote this year's Gi -Norchanden event. He discussed the role of the landlord how to choose the mountain to drive through the course conditions, the talent and depth of the Jackson teams and much more in the video above in this story.

Reflections by the girls' championship:

Defender Champ = Jackson (Find the 16th title in a row and 45th in school history)

Defend event champs = Dylan Withherite by Jackson in the GS race. The slalom was not controversial last year due to conditions.

Participate teams = Cody, Jackson, Kelly Walsh, Laramie, Natrona County, Pinedale.

Saturday: Slalom on Cougar Ski Run am Snow King Mountain, 10 a.m. Varsity Girls will first ski.

In 2015, the last time was a Jackson skier won an Alpine Skiing State Championship race.

Junge championship attacks:

2016 was the last time that a Jackson skier won a Downhill State Championship race.

The weather could play a factor this weekend because on Thursday for the Jackson New Snow region, which could affect the 2025 championships. Hansen said they had some options depending on the amount of snow and caring for skiing on Snow King Mountain.
