Young athletes learn from Shreveport Rouxgaroux in the football camp

Shreveport, La. (KSLA) – Many young athletes were present for the youth football camp in the D1 training facility early Saturday morning (March 15) for the Shreveport.

The experience with these children was beautiful. They bring me a lot more life, so it was pretty much everything I wanted to do, ”said Anthony Lamar Dixon, Rouxgaroux Defensive Back.

Players and coaches endeavored to teach tomorrow's players. The campers were placed by drills that were built on the basics of football.

Players and coaches wanted to teach the young players everything they know.

First sportiness, right. We always have to have it forward. We want to reduce the basics with these children so that they arrive fundamentally at the time they come to the high school and college, ”said Daquan Richie, Rouxgaroux recipient.

The camp helped build up their skills and gave the players the opportunity to connect with the people in Shreveport.

“My goal is for our players instead of being Kansas City Chiefs and the like. I want you to be a Rouxgaroux one day,” said Richard Rodgers, CEO from Rouxgaroux.

After a hard day of working with the Rouxgaroux, the team hopes that the campers will further expand the experience.

“I always preach” competition “with these children. And these children have to understand, yes, they can have fun. Yes, they can go out there and do their thing,” said Dixon. “But if you go there and fight for the highest level and try to win every single representative, it does not only get out of the child, but also the other children who also try to compete with them.”

The fun for the camper does not end today. The Rouxgaroux have children/superhero night on March 22nd on their next home game against the Wheeling Mountain. The campers will play a football game with seven against seven flags during the half.
