When Tennessee Basketball begins at the SEC tournament in Nashville this weekend after the season, there are two vols at a striking removal of the program records.

The Tennessee Point Guard Zakai Zeigler follows the record of single season and career assistants, while Chaz Lanier pursues the record of three-steps with one season.

Zeigler who brings the one-time assist record is only a formality at that time. The Senior Point Guard only needs four more templates to break Rodney Woods' record of 227 assists in the 19745-75 season. This season there were only three games in which Zeigler has reached fewer than four templates, so that he will probably break the record at the SEC tournament of the Vols on Friday.

It is more in the air whether Said Johnny Dardens (1975-79) can break the career record of 715 Assists. Zeigler is currently at 696 career templates and needs 19 templates to tie Dard's record, and 20 to become the assistant manager of all time.

If Tennessee wins at least a few games this month, Zeigler's chances of breaking the career record and the season record is very high.

Chris Lofton is the only player in the history of Tennessee Basketball, who did more three -point than Chaz Lanier in a single season. The Super Senior Shooting Guard ended the regular season with 105 three-clusters, which is behind three different lofton season.

Lanier only has to make two three-point pointers to say goodbye to Lofton's efforts in his junior season, 10 three points to say goodbye to Lofton's second season, but has to make 14 three-point pointers to break Lofton's program record of 118 during his senior campaign.

If Lanier does not come into an incredible heating that is certainly possible, Tennessee has to win three or four after season games to give the Nordflorida transfer a strong opportunity to break Lofton's record.

Both Zeigler and Lanier landed in the All-Sec teams this week. The coaches voted on in the first team and Lanier in the second team, while the AP turned it and Lanier voted in the first team and Zeigler in the second team.

For the second season, the SEC coaches chose defensive players of the year and Lanier as the newcomer of the year.

Sporting News chose both Zeigler and Lanier for their all-American teams at the beginning of this week and made the couple the first Tennessee teammates who have received the all-American honors in the same season since Bernard King and Ernie Grunfeld.
