Zion leads Pelicans past Phoenix to start the Mardi Gras Road Trip – Crescent City Sports

It is now a three-game victory for the New Orleans Pelicans after the historical effort by Zion Williamson.

Williamson recorded the first triple double of his six-year career with 27 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists when New Orleans opened his Mardi Gras Roadrip with a 124-116 victory against the Phoenix Sun on Thursday evening.

The three-game strips correspond to the longest winning streak of the Pelican of the Year.

Williamson set up his monster line in just 31 minutes and was 13 out of 17 off the ground.

He was one of seven New Orleans players in double -digit figures. CJ McCollum had 19, Trey Murphy III. He achieved 18, Karlo Matkovic 17, Jose Alvarado 14, Yves Mis 11 and Jordan Hawkins 10.
The pelicans led after a quarter 35-30 and scored the first 13 points of the second quarter to achieve a lead of 18 points, but the suns gathered in the last nine minutes of the period and exhibited New Orleans 32-13 during the route to achieve a lead of 62: 61.

The Suns led 91-88 to the fourth quarter, but a run in the quarter gave the Pelicans a tour that they did not give up, and a few Williamson also helped to hold the home team in the last two minutes.
